Welt’s 2024 release, “Easy,” is a vulnerable pop dance song that combines acoustic sounds normally used for heartfelt ballads, personal lyrics, and the interesting beats, synths, and production of the dance genre. Listeners who enjoy Emei or MOTHICA would also find Welt appealing. “Easy” begins with guitar arpeggios that give us the cookie cutter emotional ballad, but the arrangement slowly builds in other layers that make the song something more unique. This song also has dynamic changes in each part, which coincide with the emotional progression of the lyrics. Since the song is about overthinking and self-doubt, the stronger delivery in the last chorus shows how people’s inner thoughts can become more and more overwhelming over time. In one of the verses, Welt is self-aware that she is overly anxious and letting her doubts get the best of her. She expresses this with the lyrics "I’m finding wrongs. What have I become?” Her frustration with her own overthinking and desire to change shows in the chorus lyrics “Wish I could care less. I’m feeling helpless.” As many over-thinkers have probably heard from their significant others, Welt also writes about how this anxiety and doubtfulness affects her relationships: “You say I’m only trouble and it’s never easy with me.” Because of this song’s relatable songwriting, moderate tempo, and mixture of timbres, it can appeal to a wide range of listeners. If you already love pop dance like AURORA, then Welt is right up your alley. If you normally like songs with more “real” soundscapes but are looking for something new, Welt could be a way to dip your toes in the water of dance music.
