An Afterthought by PRIZEFIGHTER
Within the first 20 seconds of “An Afterthought” by PRIZEFIGHTER, your ears have already had plenty of candy between the interesting vocal effects and their layered panning, wonderfully big drum sound, a solid bass tone, and great guitar riffs. The different guitar tones provide the perfect balance of dirty, distorted grit and brightness. The lyrics are upfront, and will immediately pull on your heart. During the badass bridge that follows the banging chorus, you can scream your heart out with PRIZEFIGHTER. His scream will make you feel the release of frustrations just like A Plot in You, My Chemical Romance, or Pierce the Veil. His vocals in the rest of the song are very reminiscent of the post-Blink-182 era pronunciation, so any listener who is a longtime alt rock fan will be drawn to his great vocal performance. Additionally, the halftime breakdown will give you a proper head-banging moment. “An Afterthought” really takes you through all the emotions in the short 2:51 runtime, and yet it is a wonderfully smooth journey.
